Christmas in Ballyglass NS

On Thursday, 20/12/12, all the children of Ballyglass NS participated in a performance in the Senior Classroom. Ms. Tannian's class said some Irish poems and then sang a lovely new version of Jingle Bells with actions. Mrs. Lynskey's class said some Irish and English poems, then they put on a little play where each child was involved in the telling of the Christmas story. Then they sang some great songs, including Santa got stuck up the chimney! Then Mr. Cosgrave's class told the story of Christmas with songs, and showed us some ways that Christmas is celebrated around the world. They finished with their own version of "It feels like Christmas" from the Muppet's Christmas Carol.
After this, Mr. Mooney joined all classes from 1st - 6th to play lots of great Christmas songs on the guitar and the tin whistle, showing off all their wonderful work from the year. The children were delighted to see Ms. Griffin called in at the end of the day to join in the songs on the flute.
A brilliant day was had by all, and the children can be very proud of the work that they have done. Here are some photos from the day.
