Grandparents Day 2019

Grandparents Day took place in Ballyglass NS on Wednesday the 20th February 2019. It was wonderful to see the grandparents who had travelled from near and far to attend the special celebration. The children performed Irish dancing, recited poems, sang songs, played their tin whistles and displayed the projects they had created about their grandparents before finally finishing with a rendition of 'Óró Sé do Bheatha Abhaile'. Former Ballyglass NS principal, Mr. Tom O'Doherty, spoke to the grandparents and shared with them the history of the school. After the performances, the grandparents were able to meet together and enjoyed tea and refreshments in Mrs. Lynskey's room. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and many thanks to all those who attended. A special thank you to the Students Council for assisting teaching staff and grandparents throughout the day, to the Parents Association who organised the refreshments and to those who provided baked goods. Many special memories were made and shared.
