The staff and students of Ballyglass NS are currently preparing a presentation outlining the various STEM activities they have accomplished so far this year. We hope to submit an application for the SFI (Science Foundation Ireland) Plaque of STEM before our Easter break. As part of our preparations for the award, Charlotte Murphy, a local engineer, visited all class groups on Wednesday the 27th of March, and prepared workshops for the junior and senior classes in the school.
Also, a STEM Day has been organised for the 8th April in which both Áine and Chris Laffin (parents) have agreed to visit the students of Ballyglass to speak to them about the importance of engineering in our daily lives. The senior students will also prepare and demonstrate different STEM projects that they have developed during this day. See below a short video clip highlighting Charlotte's visit to Ballyglass NS on Wednesday.
